I was the last of my friends to get unlimited texting. It always took me forever to send a text and I guess I would have rather called someone than text them. But lately, I very rarely talk to people on the phone. There are a few people that I do talk to daily/weekly, but honestly - between reading people blogs (and leaving comments), facebook, e-mail and texting - I am able to keep in touch that way. And the weird thing is I feel very connected to my family and friends, even though we don't physically talk every week.
I think, especially since I've become a mom that it can be hard to talk on the phone when Acadia is up - either I'm trying to get out the door, we're doing a craft, I'm changing a diaper, making a meal, she's having a tantrum, etc, etc, that sometimes it's just easier to send someone an e-mail to let them know I'm thinking about them once Acadia is down for her nap.

I hate the phone since having kids. It is nearly impossible to actually have a conversation. If Aaron is up he thinks he *needs* to talk on the phone too...even if its Britax CS or whatever. Drives me insane. I do call my mom a few times a week as she can handle Aaron butting in every 5 seconds but otherwise I talk online via FB and IM most of the time.
I am rarely ever on the phone. I can never hear anyone speaking to me and by the time it is quiet enough to hear anyone around here it is pretty late! I am an email-er! I keep in touch with so many people through emai and facebook. I think amost any mom is understading of not getting the "ear" time with others.
OMG.. i'd much rather text or email than talk on teh phone these days. Sometimes it's just easier!!
