Playdate with Eden

My friend Jo is moving next week (luckily only to South Burlington!) and I had offered to babysit her daughter Eden anytime. Last week we watched her for a few hours and she and Acadia had so much fun! And I have to say, I thought having a 2 month old, a one year old and a two year old would be crazy, but it just made me want another! (Shhh! Don't tell Matti!)

Family Fun Day

We took Acadia to the North Avenue Family Fun Day this past weekend. It was our first year going and Matt and I were amazed by it! Games, pony rides, a bouncy house, hamburgers/hotdogs/chips/drinks - all for free! I asked Matt on the way there how much money we had on us and he said $30, which I wasn't positive was enough. It was SO much fun!

Acadia went down one of those huge blow up slides for the first time. I had to help her get up the climbing wall and once I was up there I was surprised at how high we were. Acadia didn't mind a bit, but I was sitting there for a few minutes trying to figure out how to get down - take the plunge or climb back down the rock wall. I decided to take the plunge (in a skirt no less), and am just grateful that my husband didn't take any shots of me whipping down it!

A day in the life...

Although we haven't had too many nice summer days here, today was definitely a day that reminded me why I live in Vermont :) The weather was perfect and we took full advantage of it, spending most of it outside.

We met up with some friends at the park

Went home for bubbles, a quick swim in her turtle pool and lunch
Picked up our share at the farmer's market
Then went to dinner at Bri's - unhealthy, yummy food!

After dinner we went for a swim

And out for ice cream! And here is Vermont for you...Matt and I were taking turns eating our ice cream and holding Emma when the women sitting next to us asked if they could hold Emma for us so we could enjoy our ice cream. SO sweet!! They were sisters from Scotland...one had been living in VT for 6 years and the other one was visiting for 2 weeks. We ended up talking to them for about a half hour and they held Emma the whole time :) They were sooo nice!

Romance

It has definitely changed over the years...no more lazy Sunday mornings and breakfast in bed...no more late nights out at the bars with our friends...flowers? rarely...staring across the table at each other? nope....

But what I do have is even better....it's putting one tired toddler to bed and spending the night with my best friend and our daughter...

It's playing games during the evenings...even though he has one extra set of eyes to help him out (cheater...)

It's homemade pina coladas, candles and a little Feist playing in the background...

It's knowing that this man....this man who I love more than anything...truly loves me more today than when I first met him...after 2 children, 10 extra pounds, and about a million stretch marks...and I wonder...how could you get more romantic than that?

Good book

I always have the book(s) I'm reading on the side of my blog...you can click on the title and it will send you to amazon.com with a description of the book. Well, I started this book last night around 9pm and didn't even have time to add it to my blog, as I finished it today at 2. I don't remember the last time I read a book that quickly! It was so good - I would definitely recommend it!

Daddy's princess

Auntie Mimi bought Acadia her first princess outfit and she LOVES it!!
