Going to school, especially for the first time, is huge. Not only for the children going, but for the parents. I want going back to school to be something to look forward to and would like to celebrate every year with a back to school party. I had a great time planning this and making everything special and beautiful for the girls. I still can't believe my children are in Kindergarten and Preschool!! So cliche, but where has time gone??
We had the most fun we've ever had at dinner and the girls loved their back to school gifts, the balloons and flowers. I made the meal my mother made for us every night before school - Sheppard's pie with cinnamon buns. The girls loved them!! Thanks, mom, for the recipe! I love that I'm passing the tradition of what we have for dinner on to my children :)
This was a last minute idea I had - to use the same table cloth every year and write down the girls wishes for that school year.
