3 years ago tonight, I was in labor for you.
I was nervous about everything - labor, caring for a newborn, becoming a mother.
I tried to picture what you would look like when we were finally able to meet you.
Would you be a boy or a girl?
Would you have curly hair?
I tried to imagine my life with you.
I had no idea.
I had no idea the emotions that would come over me the second you were put into my arms.
I had no idea about the uncontrollable and unconditional love I felt for you instantaneously.
I had no idea that the minute I saw you, I knew without a doubt in my mind - that not only was I meant to be a mother...I was meant to be your mother.
I had no idea that everything I had gone through - all the horror stories of pregnancy and labor - wouldn't matter to me once I met you.
I had no idea that my world would be rocked that early April morning.
I had no idea that the sleepless nights would be worth it.
I had no idea the joy I would feel at your first smile. Over your first words. And your first steps.
I had no idea.
And how could I?
I had never been in love like this.
I had never loved someone so deeply as I did you, my Acadia June...Happy Birthday Eve, my sweet girl...
