The carpets

What? You thought we would stop construction with our walls and stairs?? No way. We are getting new carpets too!

Gross carpets

After Matt pulled up the carpets

Oh. And we're re-doing our flooring in the kitchen. What the what were we thinking doing all of this at the same time?! :)

Taking notes

Mama? Sorry I'm sitting on my night stand. It's just that I'm taking notes. I'm trying to count how many trees are outside, how many cars are outside and how many people are walking by. I'm trying to count so I can get ready for Kindergarten. And I'm putting everything in my notebook!

Pinkalicious

We went to see the play Pinkalicious today. Pinkalicious is one of the girls favorite books! And the play was adorable. We all had fun!

About to meet Pinkalicious!

My crazy little ballerina

Dad of the year

In addition to cooking, cleaning and taking care of all three of his girls, Matt made the girls "cars" to watch their movies in. *Melt* my heart!!

Sick. That is the title of this post.

The girls just came down with hand, foot and mouth disease for the very first time. Holy Moly - it was horrible :(  Luckily, it was only in their mouths and not on all three places, but still - they had trouble eating or drinking anything and we couldn't seem to get their fevers under control. Unfortunately, it's something that just needs to ride it's course and antibiotics wouldn't have helped. So we waited.

They finally got better! Yeah! And the very next day I woke up with the worst fevers, body aches and sore throat. They tested me for strep and it came back negative, but I had caught their virus and again - antibiotics wouldn't help my cold. I was literally in bed for 5 days. On the 3rd day, I broke down in tears over not being able to see my babies, not being able to help around the house, not being able to perform our normal, daily activities - making my loves breakfast, brushing their teeth, sunblocking them up for a trip to the beach, giving them baths, cooking their dinner and cleaning up. Yes. I was actually crying because I couldn't cook and clean up after them. I missed them. I can't even tell you how much I missed them. Sounds dramatic, I know - and I realize 5 days isn't that long of a time, but to hear them crying because they wanted mommy and know that I couldn't get near them and hug and kiss them was awful.

So my rock star of a husband helped Acadia make me breakfast in bed. On the menu - plastic cupcakes, Gatorade and toast with butter and pink sprinkles. Along with a card Acadia made and hand picked flowers.

I'll let you in on a little secret...that breakfast worked WAY better an antibiotics to make me feel better.

More renovations

Since we're doing the walls, we might as well re-do our stairs too!

Renovations

One of the things on our list to do was to take down the wall paper downstairs in our entryway. Matt started trying to take the wall paper down, only to realize there were 3 layers of it. The 3rd layer was taking down the sheet rock, so - a small(ish) project has turned into a huge project. Matt spent several days taking down the sheet rock and re-sheet rocking the entire downstairs entryway and all the way up the stairs. Our friend Sheb helped him with putting up the sheet rock, which was a huge help!

Old light - will post pic of new light soon

Oma's 4th of July Party!

The girls and I went to the beach on the 3rd with a bunch of friends, and literally 15 out of 20 children that we were with were severely sick. Emma threw up once in the middle of the night (early am on the 4th) and so for the first time since Acadia was born, we had to miss the Colchester parade.

We originally thought she had a stomacy bug, but after lots of chatter on FB we realized that it must have been the lake that made them sick - not a bug. After we saw that Emma wasn't going to be sick again, we decided to go to Auntie Mimi's annual 4th of July party. She has the BEST parties! So we certainly didn't want to miss it. In the end, I believe it was the algae that got all the kids, since the e-coli levels are tested frequently and came back at very low levels.

In any case, we were happy that Emma only was sick once in the middle of the night and was fine for Oma's party!!

Sandbar

It was weird to go from the ocean to Lake Champlain, but that's exactly what we did! We met about 15 moms and their kids at the lake, the day after we arrived home from Hampton. It felt so quiet being at the lake and not hearing the huge waves from the ocean. But the kids had so much fun with their friends!! I feel so lucky to live on the lake to to be able to take the girls there as often as we do!

Beach bums

Oh, how I love Hampton beach!! So beautiful. We went to the beach again and the girls loved "surfing" like Max did. The waves were perfect and the water felt great. It was sad to leave!

Classic picture of Acadia being pissed that her booster seat had a back to it, and was therefore a "baby" seat.
