Helping daddy

When we took down Acadia's crib to bring into Emma's room, Acadia 'had' to help daddy fix the aquarium attached to the crib.

Happy birthday daddy!!

Every morning we say good bye to daddy by waving to him in the front window. Daddy waves back while backing out of the driveway. This morning we did the usual routine and I saw daddy stop halfway up the street, and reverse back to our house. I ran onto the steps in my bathrobe and shouted to him "Do you need anything?" His response was that, No - he just wanted to wave to his girl again...

Just like daddy!

We've been so busy lately that we haven't eaten at home much. Saturday night we decided to stay home and just relax. Matt got out the grill we had bbq chicken, grilled corn and zucchini. Acadia even helped daddy grill!

Haaawhat?

So I am the picture taker in this family....Matt has never (that I know of) taken a picture of the girls without me asking him to. There are very, very few pictures of me with the girls because sometimes I forget to ask Matt to take pictures and I don't think he ever thinks to grab the camera and take pics of the three of us.

So you can imagine my surprise the other night when I was going through our pictures to update the blog and found these 3 pictures. I was SO confused. My first thoughts were that 1) I had amnesia. Of course - I took these pictures, hit my head and totally forgot I took them OR 2) A robber came into our house, decided to steal our camera, saw how cute Emma was and took a few pictures of her. After taking said pictures, he got so distracted he left without ever stealing our camera.

Big girl bed

Yesterday was the first day Acadia slept in her big girl bed! What a special occasion - passing along her crib to Emma is the last baby stage for her. A bit emotional for mommy, but a very happy moment for Acadia. We started with her nap, which took about 2 hours to get her down. We have two rules for the big girl bed - 1) No getting out of bed without asking mommy or daddy (we still have our monitor set up) and 2) No jumping on the bed. So far she has followed rule #2 closely - I wish I could say the same about #1!

Here are the excuses we heard yesterday afternoon for getting out of bed:

1. Mommy! You wanna sleep with me?
2. Daddy! There's a monster in my room!
3. Daddy!! I love you! Will you come back!? Followed shortly by - Mommy!! I love you! Will you come back?!

Bed time was the same thing - lots of "I need my milk", "I have to go to the bathroom", or we would walk out in the hallway and see her light on, go into her room and she would be playing in her Rose Petal Cottage. We think she finally fell asleep around 10. We'll see how tonight goes :)

First night in her big girl bed

Yesterday Acadia was jumping in her crib (a big no no) and hit her lip...then this morning Matti caught her climbing and was on the top railing of her crib. We've waited as long as possible to make this transition, but we couldn't wait any longer. I'll post updates tomorrow with how it went tonight. Wish us luck!

Her crib injury - nothing that a little Boo Boo Bunny couldn't take care of!

3 months old

Emma turned 3 months old last week and I'm just now getting around to posting about it - slacker! She is absolutely amazing - a dream baby!! Sleeps well, is content 90% of the time and smiles ALL the time!!

Weight: A little over 11 pounds. I'm going to have to update this when we have her 3 month pedi appointment.

Height: Probably about 24 inches - again, I'll have to update this

Schedule: She usually wakes up around 6 or 7ish to nurse. After that, she's usually asleep until around 10. She's up for about 4 hours or so and takes a 2 hour nap. She's been going to sleep around 9:30ish and is down for about 6 hours and nurses. She's still an awesome sleeper!!!

Recent accomplishments: In the past month, she has continued sleeping through the night every so often and the nights she doesn't sleep through the night, she never fully wakes up. She'll nurse while sleeping then Matt puts her back into her room. I have an amazing husband who helps out SO much during the evenings. He gets her when she cries, brings her to me and I nurse her until she's done, then he brings her back to her room.

Matti and I are both wondering if she's teething...she's been drooling quite a bit, chewing her hands and we think we can see something white on her bottom gums.

The other accomplishment is that she started laughing this month!! It's the best sound in the world!!

The Brick House

Last night our book group met at The Brick House. If you're from Vermont, The Brick House is located on the property of Shelburne Farms and is part of the Shelburne Museum. It is beautiful and if are part of a book group yourself, I highly suggest "renting it" for the night of a book group. We were told that they are booked through this year, but it would be a nice meeting place for next year :)

My awesome book group!

From left: Brenda, Sara, Grandma, Bonnie, me, Mrs. Fitzgerald, my mom, Elizabeth, Mary Ellen, Darci, Colleen

Please forgive my complete obsession with the windows! I couldn't help but think the entire time that when I was looking outside at the beautiful view, I was looking through the same windows and had the same views as the owners of the home had many years ago.

Bon Bon

Every once in a while someone comes along and changes your life forever...I think I can speak for my sister and I when I say that for us, this person is Bonnie...Never have I met anyone who I have connect with so quickly and who I have loved so instantly. Bonnie is the nicest, most sincere person I know. She would do anything, literally anything, for someone she loves. She's loyal, kind, funny and a complete joy to be around. You honestly can't not be happy around her, as she just exudes happiness and positiveness.

Not only is she officially our Auntie Bon Bon, but she also performed the marriage ceremony for my sister and Jimmy...it was perfect and I can't think of anyone who would have done a better job than Bonnie! We are so very blessed to have her in our lives!!

Dealing with the aftermath

This is what happened after my mom left our house the other night...

Mr. and Mrs.

I have a lot of pics of the wedding, so I'm going to try to break them down, because there are too many to share in one post. The Thursday before Miche and Jimmy got married, mom, Miche, Bonnie, Brenda and the girls and I went to Breakwaters for lunch. The weather was perfect and it was a great lunch!

My sister and her husband (so fun to say that!) are now enjoying their honeymoon in Aruba and I can't wait for them to get back to hear all about it! I'll post more pics of the wedding soon - congrats Jimmy and Miche! We are so excited for you!
