My Grandma was an amazing woman. Strong. Loyal. Funny. Easy going. She was our rock. She held our family together. She raised 4 amazing children and helped raise my cousins and I.
Every year since I was a child, my sister and I would spend Christmas Eve at my Grandma's house. We'd wake up on Christmas morning with my Grandparents, Aunt and father and Miche and I would just stare at all the presents in front of the tree. Just begging to open them. Just one or two?? Pllleassee?? My Grandma would always let us open our stockings right away and we'd wait for the rest of the family to arrive before opening the presents. I seriously had the best
Christmas mornings growing up.
The other day I was listening to old messages on my phone, deleting them and saving the ones I needed. All of a sudden I heard, Hello, love. It's Grandma. I'd like to have your new address. And...can you get it to me....today or tomorrow? I, ah...I don't know it, you see. Ok, love. Bye bye.
I will save this message forever. I loved hearing her voice, as shocked as I was to hear it at first. I played it about 5 times and smiled the whole time.
I love you, Grandma. The whole wide world and a big, big penny...
